For the past three years, LetUsHelpNow Foundation has been helping children, elderly, and special needs care homes, community networks and service organizations in Sri Lanka in small ways to improve their lives.

In that short time, we have met and collaborated with many great people. We learned and matured from their life situations and experiences. The community we are part of and serve together provides us with courage, guidance and strength to continue our work.

"It takes a village to raise a child.” The collective efforts of the care homes’ trustees, administrators, staff, donors, supporters, government officers, and religious leaders make it possible to care for and improve the lives of the most vulnerable members of our community.

Many do not consider this work as a service. In contrast, this forms a natural part of their lives. They consider it their privilege. Most of their daily thoughts are dedicated to improving the lives of those dependent on them. The wider society is not aware of their example and contributions.

LetUsHelpNow Foundation would like to recognize and celebrate exemplary individuals who inspired and guided us.

Akal Award

LetUsHelpNow Foundation’s Akal Award recognizes and celebrates the exemplary individuals who have dedicated their lives to support and care for the vulnerable members of our community.

Through this award, we hope to document and share their life stories, motivations, selfless service, accomplishments, methods, lessons learned, and the impact they had on our community. As one of us, they are role models and inspiration for the next generation.

அறம்செய்வோம் அறக்கட்டளையின் அகல் விருது 

அறம் செய்வோம் அறக்கட்டளையானது கடந்த மூன்றாண்டு காலமாக இலங்கையில்  உள்ள காப்பகங்கள், வலையமைப்புக்கள், சமூக சேவை நிறுவனங்கள் ஊடாக சிறுவர்கள், விசேட தேவையுள்ளோர் மற்றும் மூத்தோர்கள் வாழ்வை மேம்படுத்த எம்மால் இயன்ற சிறிய பணியாற்றிவருகிறது.

இந்த குறிகிய காலப்பகுதயில் இந்த சமூக வெளியில் நாம் சந்தித்துப் பணியாற்றிய ஆளுமைகள் ஏராளம். இப்பெருமக்கள் ஊடாக நாம் பெற்ற அனுபவ முதிர்வுகள், நாம் சற்றேனும் மேம்படுத்திய மக்கள் குழுவின் வாழ்வுகள், எமை ஆழமாக பாதித்த,  சிந்திக்கத் தூண்டிய அவர்களின் வாழ்வு நிலைகள்,  அவை கற்றுத்தந்த வாழ்க்கைப் பாடங்கள் ஏராளம்.

இதில் குறிப்பாக காப்பகங்களின் அறங்காவலர்கள், முகாமையாளர்கள், பணியாளர்கள், நன்கொடையாளர்கள், நலன்விரும்பிகள், அரச பணியாளர்கள், மதத்தலைவர்கள் என எண்ணிலடங்கா மக்களின் தன்னலமற்ற, ஒன்றிணைந்த செயல் வினையின் விளைவே இவர்களை நம்பி வாழ்வோரின் வாழ்வின் மேம்பாடாக அமைகிறது.

இவர்களின் பெரும்பாலனோர் இதனை ஒரு சேவையாகவே கருதுவதில்லை. மாறாக இவையனைத்தும் வாழ்வின் ஒரு சாதாரண அல்லது இயற்கையான அசைவாகவே கருதுகின்றனர். அத்துடன் அதனை தமக்கு கிடைத்த பெருவாய்ப்பாகவே எண்ணுகின்றனர். இவர்களின் நாளாந்த சிந்தனைகள், அன்றாட வாழ்வின் பெரும்பகுதி  என்பன தம்மை சார்ந்து வாழும் மக்களின் மேம்பாட்டிற்காகவே செலவாகிறது. இதனாலே இவர்கள் பெரிதாக சமூக வெளியில் அறியப்படுவதில்லை. இதனை இவர்கள்  எதிர்பார்ப்பதும் இல்லை,  விரும்புவதும் இல்லலை.

அறம்செய்வோம் அறக்கட்டளையின் குறிகிய கால பயணத்தில் எமை வியப்பில் ஆழ்த்திய  எமக்கு வழிகாட்டிய. எமக்கு ஊக்கமூட்டிய  நல் ஆத்மாக்களை கெளரவித்து கொண்டாடி மகிழ விரும்புகிறோம். 

அகல் விருது

விளிம்பு நிலை மக்களின் வாழ்வை ஒளியேற்ற  தம் வாழ்நாளினை அர்ப்பணிக்கும் பெருமக்களை கொண்டாடி மகிழல் என்ற கருப்பொருளில் இவ்வாண்டு முதல் ஆண்டு தோறும் அகல் விருது  வழங்கி பெருமை கொள்ளவுள்ளோம்.

பெருமக்களின் வாழ்வை, அவர்களின் பயன் கருதா சேவைகளை, செய்யத்தூண்டிய காரணிகளை, ஆற்றியபணிகளை, ஆற்றல் முறைகளை, கற்றுக்கொண்ட பாடங்களை, செயலினால் ஏற்பட்ட மாற்றங்களை, அவர்களின் முன்மாதிரி மனிதர்களை அறியவும்,  ஆவணப்படுத்தவும் அடுத்த தலைமுறையினருக்கு நம்மில் ஒருவரராக வாழும் இப்பெருமக்களை முன்னுதாரணமாக முன்னிருத்தவும் முனைகிறோம்.
