COVID-19 Relief 2021 - Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for 51 Eastern care homes

LetUsHelpNow Foundation provided Personal Protective Equipments (PPEs) for 51 Eastern care homes.

Covid-19 cases were surging in Sri Lanka, hitting a record high of 2,624 cases on Monday, May 10, 2021. Care homes were at increased risk.  Some care homes had active cases.   LetUsHelpNow coordinated with officials from the Department of Probation and Child Care Services, Eastern province to understand the ground situation and needs.  The request for Personal Protective Equipments (face masks, hand soap, hand sanitizer, infrared thermometer) emerged as an urgent need.  

LetUsHelpNow immediately released funds for the following three homes to purchase PPEs: Methodist Girls Home - Batticaloa (12 children), Anbu Illam - Trincomalee (13 children), and Indrasara Children Home - Ampara (33 children). 

We obtained quotes to distribute PPEs for the remaining 49 homes.  We selected a vendor and disbursed LKR 860,761.  The vendor and officials from the Department of Probation and Child Care Services, Eastern province distributed the PPEs to the care homes.  The number of PPEs to be distributed to the home was determined by the number of people and staff at the homes.  Approximately 1,200 children and 200 staff benefited from the above project.

The funds were donated by 113 LetUsHelpNow contributors from Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom. The receipts and thank you letters provided by the homes were shared with the donors and published online.

கிழக்கிலங்கையிலுள்ள 51 சிறுவர் இல்லங்களுக்கான தனிநபர் காப்புக் கருவிகள் வழங்கல்.

இலங்கையில் கோவிட்-19 பதிவுகள் இதுவரை காணாத உயர் எண்ணிக்கையான 2,624 பதிவுகளை மே 10, 2021 அன்று எட்டின. சிறுவர்-மூத்தோர்-சிறப்புத் தேவையுள்ளோர் இல்லங்கள் கூடிய கோவிட்-19 ஆபத்துக்களை எதிர்நோக்கியுள்ளன. ஏற்கனவே இல்லங்களில் கோவிட்-19 பதிவுகள் ஏற்பட்டுள்ளன. அறம்செய்வோம் அறக்கட்டளை கிழக்கு மாகாண சிறுவர் நன்நடத்தை திணைக்கள அலுவலகர்களின் உதவியுடன் கள நிலவரத்தையும் தேவைகளையும் அறிந்தது. இந்த இல்லங்களின் உடனடித் தேவையாக தனிநபர் காப்புக் கருவிகள் (Personal Protective Equipment) இருப்பது அறியப்பட்டுள்ளது.

இவற்றை பின்வரும் இல்லங்களுக்கு உடனடியாக பெற தேவைப்பட்ட நிதியான ரூபா 35,000 அந்த இல்லங்களின் வங்கிக்கணக்கில் வைப்பிலிடப்பட்டது.  கோட்டமுனை மதடிஸ் சிறுமியர் இல்லம் - மட்டக்களப்பு (12 சிறுமிகள்), அன்பு இல்லம் - திருகோணமலை (13 சிறுமிகள்).

ஏனைய கிழக்கு மாகாண  49 இல்லங்களுக்கான தனிநபர் காப்புக் கருவிகளுக்கான விலைகோரல்கள் பெறப்பட்டு, தெரிவு செய்யப்பட்ட வினியோகத்தருக்கு நிதி ரூபா 860,761.61 நேரடியாக வைப்பிலிடப்பட்டது. தனிநபர் காப்புக் கருவிகள் நேரடியாக வினியோகத்தினராலும், சிறுவர் நன்னடத்தை பிரதேச சபை அலுவலர்களாலும் இல்லங்களுக்கு சென்று வழங்கப்பட்டன. அத்துடன் இல்லங்களில் இருந்து இவை பெற்றுக்கொண்டதற்கான கடிதங்களும் பெறப்பட்டன.
தனிநபர் காப்புக் கருவிகளான முக கவசங்கள், கைகழுவும் சோப், கிருமி தூய்மிகள், அகச்சிவப்பு வெப்பநிலை அளவிகள் (infrared thermometer) என்பன ​​ இல்லங்களிலிருக்கும் சிறுவர்களின் எண்ணிக்கை மற்றறும் அங்கிருக்கும் பணியாளர்களின் எண்ணிக்கை என்பன கருத்தில் கொள்ளப்பட்டு வழங்கப்பட்டன. அன்னளவாக 1,200 சிறுவர்களும்  200 பணியாளர்களும் இதனால் பயன்பெற்றிருப்பார்கள்.

இத்திட்டத்தினை வழிநடத்தி உதவிய சரண்யா சுதர்சன் (கிழக்கு மாகாண சிறுவர் நன்நடத்தை உதவி ஆணையர்) ,  இல்லங்களுக்கு சென்று கையளித்த அனைத்து சிறுவர் நன்னடத்தை அலுவலர்கள் மற்றும் இப்பொருட்களை குறுகிய காலத்திற்குள் திரட்டி ஊரடங்கு வேளையிலும்  இல்லங்களுக்கு சென்று வழங்கிய கரன் (சாய் பாமசி, திருகோணமலை)  அனைவருக்கும் எம் நன்றிகள்.

இதற்கான நிதி LetUsHelpNow இனது கனடா, அவுஸ்திரேலியா, பிரித்தானியா 113 தன்னார்வ நண்பர்களால் வழங்கப்பட்டது. இல்லத்தின் உத்தியோகபூர்வ பற்றுச்சீட்டும் நன்றிக்கடிதமும் பெறப்பட்டு நன்கொடையாளர்களிடம் பகிரப்பட்டதுடன் அறக்கட்டளையின் இணையத்தளத்திலும் பகிரப்பட்டுள்ளது.
