Basic Needs Assistance - Upcountry Care Homes - Aug 2022
Given the current economic hardship in Sri Lanka, LetUsHelpNow coordinated a meeting with Upcountry homes on August 9th, 2022 to understand their needs and challenges. Representatives from five homes participated and three homes reached out to us after the meeting. Some of the commonly identified needs include food, educational supplies, and urgent repairs.
All homes expressed appreciation for the previous contributions from LetUsHelpNow and wished the supporters well. Based on the feedback received, we are providing assistance to the following homes:
Bishop Daniel Boys Home, Nuwara Eliya
Bishop Daniel Boys Home cares for 13 children. Their public donations have significantly reduced and requested dry food.
Ravishankar Children's Home, Monaragala
Ravishankar Children's Home currently cares for 15 children. They are expecting another 7 children to join their home soon. The home requested assistance with school supplies such as back bags and shoes.
Maranatha Child Development Centre, Hatton
Maranatha Child Development Centre cares for 47 children. Currently, it is the rainy season there. They requested umbrellas and sweaters for 40 of their children.
St.Francis Child Development Centre, Mattale.
St.Francis Child Development Centre cares for 15 children. As it is the rainy season, they requested repair of windows as well as repair of some electrical wiring. We are providing assistance to undertake the repair of urgent electrical works.
Louis Marie Children's Home, Budulla
Louis Marie Children's Home cares for 15 children. As with many other care homes, their regular donations have declined. The home requested dry food assistance.
இம்மாத முதல் வாரத்தில், இலங்கையின் இக்கட்டான சூழ்நிலையில் மலையக காப்பகங்களின் தற்போதைய அடிப்படைத் தேவைகளை அறிந்துகொள்வதற்கான ஒரு கலந்துரையாடலை கடந்த செவ்வாய் மலையக அனைத்து காப்பகங்களின் மேலாளர்கள், அறங்காவலர்களுடன் ஒழுங்கு செய்து பங்கேற்றோம். இந்த உரையாடலின் அடிப்படையில் இம்மாத மாத செயற்றிட்டத்தை முன்னெடுக்கின்றோம்.
பங்கேற்ற அனைவரும் அறம்செய்வோம் அறக்கட்டளையின் செயற்பாடுகளை நன்றியுடன் நினைவு கூறி அனைத்து நன்கொடையாளர்களுக்குத் தம் நன்றிகளையும் ஆசிகளையும் வழங்கினர்.

தற்போது 13 சிறுவர்கள் காப்பகத்தில் உள்ளனர். தற்கால நிலைமையின் காரணமாக வழமையான நன்கொடைகள் குறைவாக உள்ளதனால் மாதாந்த உலர் உணவுப்பொருட்களுக்கான நிதி உதவியை கோரியுள்ளனர்.
Ravishankar Children's Home, Monaragala
தற்போது 15 சிறுவர்கள் காப்பகத்தில் உள்ளனர், மேலும் 7 சிறுவர்கள் வரவுள்ளனர். கடந்த மாதம் மீள் ஆரம்பிக்கப்பட்ட பாடசாலைக்கு செல்வதற்கான பாதணிகள் மற்றும் பாடசாலை பைகள் தேவைப்படுவதாக கூறியுள்ளனர்.

தற்போது 47 சிறுவர்கள் காப்பகத்தில் உள்ளனர். தற்போதைய பருவ மழைக்காலத்திற்கான பாடசாலை கம்பளி ஆடைகள் மற்றும் குடைகள், 40 சிறுவர்களுக்கு தேவைப்படுவதாக கூறியுள்ளனர்.

தற்போது 15 சிறுவர்கள் காப்பகத்தில் உள்ளனர். தற்போதைய பருவ மழைக்காலத்தில் காப்பகத்திலுள்ள சில யன்னல்கள் திருத்த வேண்டியுள்ளதாகவும்இ சில மின்சார கம்பிகளை மாற்ற வேண்டியுள்ளதாகவும் கூறியிருந்தார்கள். இதில் அவசர தேவையாக கருதிய மின்சார திருத்தவேலைகளை உடனடியாக மேற்கொள்ள உதவ உள்ளோம். இதற்கான விலைகோரல்கள் கிடைக்கப்பெற்றுள்ளன.
